US President Barack Obama has announced $2.4 billion for electric vehicles.Up to $400 million will be used to demonstrate and evaluate Plug-In Hybrids and other electric infrastructure concepts—like charging station. CuseCar is a non-profit car sharing program which is a recent recipient of federal grant to demonstrate its capability to build and manage 'Plug-in-ready' communities across US. This depends on the electric utility rates in the areas and the time of the day when you plan to charge your vehicle. The rate offers a significant incentive to you to charge your vehicle during the off-peak time period when the demand for electricity is lower.

What environmental benefits accrue from this program ?
